BabyCentre reveals mums’ top products

They prefer to pay for a well known, trusted brand

BabyCentre, the global parenting site for new and expecting mums, has surveyed 5,000 UK mums to find the top baby and child products in 18 different categories.

The survey found that British mums are willing to pay for the reassurance that comes with buying from a well known, trusted brand.The results saw market leaders hold their positions in their respective categories, Maxi-Cosi and Recaro dominating the car seat category and UPPAbaby being voted best Travel System. It is evident that mums buy products on basis of a solid brand reputation with other big names such as Bugaboo, Hauck and Fisher Price featuring heavily across all categories. Products that have a longer ‘life’ also proved to be popular, for example the Stokke Tripp Trapp.

Julie Michaelson, Vice President of Sales at BabyCentre, comments: “There are so many baby and child products on the market, it can be a daunting task for any new mum to choose between them". She added that “we look forward to conducting BabyCentre’s Mums' Picks on an annual basis; it will be interesting to see how new product launches impact this survey in a year’s time.”
