The ENPC expects to be the European association for the nursery products industry

This is the first European federation to represent this sector

10/10/2011

The newly formed European Nursery Products Confederation (ENPC) has been established with the aim to safeguard and promote the interests of the European nursery products industry with the European Union institutions and any other organization of interest through actions and initiatives at an institutional and association level.

The association has remarked the fact that there was no European representation for the nursery products industry, even though there were federations in many other related industries, including toys, furniture and apparel.

Initiatives by the confederation include legislative activities for protecting manufacturers' and distributors' intellectual property rights; the provision of assistance, services and updates to its members, and the monitoring of any technical barriers to free trade among countries, thus promoting accessibility to the global market. Also, the association wants to ensure all efforts addressed to improve products' safety.

The confederation counts with associations from France (Fédération Française del Industries Jouet-Puériculture), Spain (Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Juguetes), Italy (Associazione Italiana Imprese Addobbi e Ornamenti Natalizi, Giocattoli, Giochi e Modellismo, Articoli di Puericultura), and the UK (Baby Products Association).

The chairman of the ENPC is Jean-Claude Jacomin, president and CEO of Dorel France, and also member of the French nursery association.
