The seventh call of the saga gets more than 1.800 million dollar in 4 weeks

Five weeks later of the premiere of the seventh call of the most important cinematographic saga, Star Wars, the film has already collected more than 1.800 million dollar in terms of ticket sales and licensed and franchised products.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has become the most Disney box-office earner in Spain leading Pirates of de Caribbean 2 (28,8 million euros), The Sixth Sense (26,3 million euros) and Toy Story 3 (24,9 million euros). A month later of its premiere, in Spain more than 4,5 million spectators has watched the film and, currently, it keeps on being projected in 586 screens in 322 cinemas on the country, with more than 70 original version copies.

Toy sales

Toys such as the Kylo Ren double laser, the android BB-8, and different models of the millenary falcon plane, collected more than all the articles of Jurassic World, Minions and Avengers franchises, according to dates from the NPD Group.

Moreover, in the United States, this property-related toys earned more than 700 million dollars in terms of sales. Proportionally, toy sales increased 6,7% in the United States and reached 19.400 million dollar in 2015, one of the years with more sales volume in a long time period.
 
The octave call

Last January 20th, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that the premiere of the Star Wars next call, which was forecasted to reach in summer 2017, will reach, finally in December 2017. However, the producer didn’t explained the reasons of this change. One curious thing about this change is that the octave call could coincide in cinemas with Avatar 2, till now the most box-office earner in the cinema history.
