‘Observatorio Sectorial de BFK’, from the Spanish financial consultant company Informa, concludes that Spain closed 2015 with an amount of 549 shopping malls, which accumulated 15,55 million square metre, which supposes 0,7% more than the previous exercise. In that sense, Andalucía en Madrid Autonomous Communities are the ones which counted with more centres of that kind, with 105 and 97 commercial centres respectively, at later last year.

Regarding to surface, Madrid concentred approximately 20% of the total in Spain and, according to the study, the Gross Leasable Area (GLA) of the shopping malls may experiment a variation around 3% in Spain at later 2016. This way, the increasing and reorganization of operative centres is gaining importance, maybe because of the context of maturity in the context and the difficulties of finding new profitable locations. In that sense, medium size towns and ring roads of big cities are those which present a lower saturation rate.
