Turner, a leading entertainment company, has announced the appointment of Daniel González as CEO of the brand in Spain and Portugal. Thus, with the aim of reinforcing the company's commitment to Iberia, the new CEO assumes the responsibility for the company's business in the two countries of southern Europe, including the editorial operations of the TV channels Cartoon Network, Boomerang, TCM, TNT and Boing, as well as the business operations of the company, including the distribution of CNN International. In this regard, Gonzalez will report to Jaime Ondarza, SVP of Turner General Manager for Southern Europe and Africa; whereas, as regards Portugal, will report to Pierre Branco, Turner VP for Southern Europe and Africa, and General Manager for France, Portugal and Africa.

"I thank the confidence Turner had placed in me," said Daniel Gonzalez; to which he added: "Our future challenge is to maintain the leading position of our channels and adapt our brands to new forms of TV consumption. And from what I've seen so far in Turner, we are very well prepared for these challenges. We own content production quality, both in general and child entertainment category, and we also have a great human team."

The new CEO joins Turner from Nagravision Ibérica, a company in which he held the position of General Manager since 2013. In addition, the senior engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid studied after an MBA at the IESE Business School, focusing much of its career to the audiovisual sector. Also, he held as well the position of executive director of distribution for Sony Pictures and worked in the area of ​​business development at Sogecable.
