Jurassic World becomes third biggest film in history

The success of the film appears to have had a positive knock-on affect on toymaker Hasbro

30/07/2015

The latest in the Jurassic franchise has surpassed Marvel's Avengers to rank third highest-grossing film in history. Jurassic World has become the third biggest film in history, behind only James Cameron’s Titanic and Avatar.

The latest instalment in the Jurassic franchise has surged past Marvel’s Avengers to rack up a total of $1.52 billion worldwide, helping Universal make the top five list of highest grossing films twice this year.

At the US box office Jurassic World has grossed $614.3 million, making it only the fourth film in North American history to cross the $600 million mark.

The success of the film appears to have had a positive knock-on affect on toymaker Hasbro, too who earlier this week posted better than expected results for Q2 2015.
