The Finnish company Rovio, owner of Angry Birds, is in the Licensing Expo for the first time
The 32nd edition of Licensing International Expo began yesterday at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Once again, the globality and comprehensiveness of this event is evident and manifest, as the Licensing Show in Las Vegas remains the only meeting point between the licensing companies around the world. However, the presence of European companies is lower than in past editions, probably because many of them have chosen to attend Brand Licensing Europe, the licensing trade fair to be held between the 16th and 18th of October in London. Although the number of attendees of the old continent is less, the presence of attendees from Latin America is increasing, and more and more professionals from South America are filling the halls of Licensing International Expo.
As for the impressions of the first day of the fair, highlights the new Fashion District area, dedicated to those brands and properties originated in the fashion world. Digital properties continue to have presence at Licensing Show: Mindy Candy, the owner of the digital license Moshi Monsters , repeated stand, while the Finnish company Rovio, owner of Angry Birds, is in Las Vegas for the first time.
The general impression is that, despite the reduced presence of European professionals, and although the stands are becoming more straightforward and smaller, the dynamism of the event has not diminished and, as mentioned above, Licensing International Expo remains the industry benchmark worldwide. Add just the dates for the next edition of the show: it will be from 18th to 20th of June of 2013.
