“We have identified Latin America, India, China, and Korea as strategic growth markets”

Smart-Trike is an international company that manufactures tricycles for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. As Sheila Navon, Digital Marketing and Communication Manager, explains, the company wants to establish itself as “an international brand name in the field of outdoor cycling to all toddlers’ stages: 6 months – 5 years.”

What are the main markets for the company? Do you have any expansion plans for the near future?
Smart-Trike is an international company present worldwide. 2012 was an excellent year, one of the company’s best ever, with an increase of close to 20% in sales. In some countries (e.g. UK, Australia and Netherlands) our products are the best sellers in their category.

We are reaping the fruits of years of hard work combined with the right marketing strategy. The company has started exploiting opportunities in emerging markets. We have identified Latin America, India, China, and Korea as strategic growth markets. Consequently, we are planning and doing strategic actions in order to offer the best value for each market. At the same time, we started having strong presence in the US, France and Russia.

What are the company's global goals for the coming years?
Smart-Trike is now at a high point, as it enjoys a long series of achievements including a registered patent for our Swivel Wheel (Touch Steering), that enables the parent to power steer the trike with the lightest touch.

The Touch Steering maneuvering resembles premium strollers maneuvering, easy, comfort and enjoyable. Moreover, academic researches we conducted prove that our tricycles develop the motoric skills of babies riding them.

The Swivel Wheel (Touch Steering) along with our 4 in 1 product concept that grows with your child, offer our customers state-of-the-art solution for an enjoyable outdoor activity with their child.

As for 2013, a number of strategic contracts are in the offing, in countries where we have not yet established our presence. Smart-Trike is thus continuing to establish itself as an international brand name in the field of outdoor cycling to all toddlers’ stages: 6 months – 5 years.

Could you detail us some of the product lines that you will take to Spielwarenmesse 2013?

Attentive to our clients, Smart-Trike offers a wide range of products suitable for all budgets and desires. One of them is the Dream Touch Steering, a newly stylish trendy trike equipped with a patented technology. This smart engineering along with fashionable designs conveys the contemporary chic and is the ideal gift for all parents. For all animal lovers around the world, Smart-Trike is offering the Safari Touch Steering line with a variety of animals’ designs.

These lines, along with a variety of other unique products, such as our Running Bike that teaches children balance pedaling, the Springo that enables your kid, from 12 months to 36months to easily move around independently using his feet, and more, will be present in our Toy Fair 2013 booth in Nurnberg, H12, A-01.

What is your strategy concerning social networks: are you present in the networks? What are the goals of this activity? Are these new media useful?
We believe that our customers are much more than regular customers, they are our partners. As such, we see the media as a whole, and specifically speaking the social media, as important means to communicate with them and offer them leisure time, information and more. We are present on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Google+ and more, offering all our partners around the world the best leisure time and service possible.
