Babar the elephant celebrates his 80th birthday this year, and Nelvana Enterprises and The Clifford Ross Company have unveiled a number of commemorating activities, including new TV episodes, books, and an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris about this character created by Jean de Brunhoff.
This exhibition presents 100 original illustration boards, as well as photo archives, plush toys, and action figures, some from as early as 1930. Contemporary licensed products are also present.
A second season of the CG-animated TV series Babar and the Adventures of Badou is now being produced with international delivery beginning this month, produced by Nelvana Studio, TeamTO, The Clifford Ross Company, and TF1. Hachette will also launch 50-60 new books over the next three years.
