UK retail sales drop
Expectations for 2011 were cut down

Retail sales fell 0.4% in February, compared to the same month 2009. This is the fastest pace in almost a year, and was mostly due to the slow-down of non-food items sales, after a growth in January. According to analysts, this drop in sales could be explained by caution on the side of consumers, not yet sure of an economic recovery.
In fact, the British Chambers of Commerce scaled down its predictions for economic growth in 2011, although medium-term expectations were improved.
