14/06/2012

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has presented at Licensing Expo the licensing programmes of its major brands, including films, television series and classics.

As for films, the main bets are Man of Steel, the new version of Superman to be released in summer 2013, and the two films based on The Hobbit with Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings) as director. The first part will be released in December 2012 and the second, in December 2013.

Both will have global licensing programmes, which in the case of Man of Steel will count with partners such as DC Comics, Mattel, Lego, Rubie's (costumes) and other partners in fashion and collectibles.

As for The Hobbit, the property has reached agreements with The Bridge Direct and Vivid Group (toys), WETA Workshop, United Cutlery and Noble Collection (replicas and collectibles), Ravensburger (puzzles), Rubie's (costumes) and Lego, among others.

Besides these two releases, Warner has taken the Looney Tunes to Licensing Expo, with a renewed global licensing programme for the new series premiered in September 2011, and is also introducing the DC Nation programming block, which airs in the US and is to be present internationally starting the end of this year and into 2013. This block includes animated series based on characters from DC Comics, including Green Lantern and Batman.
