Millenials spend an hour a day in online shops

A third of them would buy everything online if they could

45% of internet users aged 18 to 35 years spend at least an hour browsing online stores and other sales oriented pages. Furthermore, 20% of men reach two hours, whereas in the case of women, the percentage remains at 13%.

These data are drawn from a study by DDB Worldwide, which finds that 40% of men and 33% of women aged 18-35 explain that if they could, they would buy everything online.

By category, 38% prefer to buy online electronic devices, and 50% say they search for information with their phones while still in the store. In the case of sports equipment, the percentage of those who prefer online shopping is 45%; for shoes, 27%, and for cosmetics and personal care items, 23%.

Smartphones, a shopping tool
Smartphones' uses are also increasing: 24% of men and 19% of women regularly buy via mobile and about 30% have retailers' apps on their phones. Moreover, one in four consumers of this age has come to use it to ask the store to matched a price found for the same product.

Looking for discounts
Consumers aged 18 to 35 years look particularly for discounts when shopping online. 65% of men and 55% of women buy on Ebay, looking for good prices, and about half of them also use Twitter and Facebook to receive notifications of sales and deals.
