Walt Disney Pictures has announced the sequel to Planes, to be released on July 18th 2014. Planes: Fire & Rescue will again feature Dusty Crophopper, who this time will leave the races to will join an elite firefighting aircraft.

The first instalment of the Planes trilogy was released in theaters this summer, despite being planned as a spin-off of Cars to be distributed directly to video. The film has grossed more than $200 million dollars worldwide, with a budget of $50 million.
