16/11/2011

Consulting firm BSR and the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association ( LIMA) have newly released Good Practices for Complying with Licensors’ Social and Environmental Requirements: A Practical Guide for Licensees. This guide is available as a free download and has been designed to help the licensing industry promote positive social and environmental practices among licensors, licensees, agents, suppliers, factories, and retailers.

The publication aims to assist licensing industry executives and professionals to understand how they can strive to meet licensors’ requirements for social and environmental compliance, and improve working conditions within their direct and contract manufacturing operations and supply chains.

This text helps to licensees and their suppliers to understand licensors’ general expectations related to human rights and labour practices, occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, and governance and anti-corruption. It also focuses on the need to address non-compliance issues and to create corrective plans.

The publication was developed with the Licensing Working Group, which consists of some of the best-known companies and organizations in the licensing industry, including BSR and LIMA as well as Hasbro, NBCUniversal, Time Warner, and The Walt Disney Company.
