Moshi Monsters goes mobile

The company will develop two mobile games thanks to an agreement with Gree

Online game Moshi Monsters will arrive to mobile phones in the fourth quarter of 2012 through two games and after an agreement between Mind Candy, creator of the brand, and Gree, developer of mobile social games with over 230 million users.

These games will be developed in multiple languages, including Spanish, English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin.

"Our fans love tablets and smartphones so we're really excited to take our much loved characters and stories to these new platforms," said Michael Acton Smith, Founder and CEO of Mind Candy.

Moshi Monsters currently has 60 million registered users in 150 countries. The licensing program includes the best-selling children's magazine in the UK, music, toys and apparel, among other categories that generated revenues of over $100 million in 2011.
