The Indian toy industry could double its sales in 2015
The sector would be driven by consumption and population growth

The Indian toy industry could record revenues of nearly €2 billion in 2015, compared to the current €1.1 billion today, according to a research by Assocham, the association of chambers of commerce of the country.
The toy industry is growing 20% annually, based on increasing consumption and the growth of total population, currently exceeding 1.2 billion.
Currently, India imports 85% of its toys and although the industry is extensive and produces in all categories, is dominated by small and medium companies, highly fragmented and unorganized. The sector employs about two and a half million people.
According to this research, Indian companies produce cheaper toys, while US and European brands target the middle and upper classes.
