2016, a deciding year in terms of commerce

After the last year growths traders and retailers show optimism

According to the traders estimations, last December 2015 showed a positive trend in terms of sales. “Our 2015 closing previsions are positive, thankfully, our traders show a little bit more optimist. However, we cannot leave out that 2016 is going to be a deciding year for the sector”, admitted last December Manuel García-Izquierdo, president of the Spanish Trade Confederation (CEC).

Forecasts are confirmed

In that way, forecasts related to the Christmas 2015 campaigns are confirmed. Last campaign allowed closing the best year, regarding to the sales sector, since the economic crisis was started, with an increasing which surpasses the 4% of improvement, over the shy growth reported in 2014 (+0,9%).

A jobs increasing

Moreover, the Spanish Trade Confederation expects to add more than 45.000 new jobs (Social Security net affiliations) in the 2015 global count for the retail commerce sector, driving this sector to be one of the most strategic motors of the Spanish Economy. The Spanish association has stand out the relevance of autonomous traders, who lead, for the second consecutive year, the job generation in a hold way during the whole 2015 year (1,8% superior than the 1% of the average of the commercial distribution).

In that sense, Manuel García-Izquierdo has assured that “we have to confront the definitive impulse on the consume reactivation, that is why we beg for the responsibility of all the politic parties in front of this labour”.
