Spielwarenmesse receives 71.000 trade visitors
Innovation, information and interaction were the main topics on the trade fair

On of the most important trade fairs within the toy sector, which took place from January 27th to February 1st in Nürnberg, received a total of 71.000 trade visitors from 125 countries, compared to the 70.084 visitors who attended the fair in 2015. Moreover, 2.851 toy companies attended the event with the main objective of showing their news and ideas, and taking the advantage of expanding its business over the world. Three of the most important topics on the fair were innovation, information and interaction.
Regarding to the public figures, a significant date is that this edition of the fair received more visitors from Asia, America and Africa. However, some European countries such as the United Kingdom, Italia and Netherlands also had a good role. Moreover, the number of German visitors remained stable.
Visitors and Companies general satisfaction
Visitors and brands feeling coincided with the successful results of the fair (78,8% of the visitors and 83,1% of the exhibitors assured being totally satisfied with their general impression on the event). Further, 91% of exhibitors and 81,2% of visitors were also in agreement on the issue of re-attendance to Spielwarenmesse.
More news than ever
The Nürnberg trade fair is one of the most important events within the toy sector because there is where brands show off more innovation products as well as new trends. The products which registered the biggest demand were the exhibited in the Trend Gallery. Those are toys related with three main topics: “Train Your Brain”, “Everyday Hero” and “Design To Play”.
The Spielwarenmesse Toy Award
The trade fair awards are a good option for the companies and professionals to find their own way in the field of the toy sector, something which helps them focus in the best of their products. In this edition, four products from four different categories were awarded, so they prevailed against 616 fellow competitors.
The winners of the Toy Award 2016 were:
- Baby & Infant Award: Globber 5 in 1, from Globber Templar
- Pre-School Award: Junior Kit, from Revell
- Schoolkits Award: Bunch O Balloons, from ZURU and distributed by Splash Toys
- Teenager & Family Award: KosmoBits, from KOSMOS Verlag
