The multinational electronic commerce giant, Amazon, plans to build a new logistic centre in Barcelona in Autumn 2017. The new plant will be the second that the company installs in Spain and will suppose the creation of 1.500 employment places. Located concretely in the village of El Prat de Llobregat, the new facilities of the company will have a 60.000 square metres space. The main reasons why the global online shopping leader as decided to situate itself in the Catalan capital are the closeness with key places of South Europe and the access to an excellent human capital.

The new infrastructures in Barcelona are framed in the logistic network of Amazon in Europe, integrated of more than 29 centres of seven countries and, adding itself to the plant in San Fernando de Henares (Madrid), it is a new bet in order to satisfy its customers demand. Those facilities were inaugurated in 2012, a year after the company launched Amazon.es and a few months before the opening of its corporative offices in the city of Madrid.
