Carrefour sales increase in Spain

While multinational chain sales descend in France

Carrefour sales in Spain have totaled 2,024 million euros in the first quarter, representing a growth of 0.6% over the same period last year. The improvement has been even more positive on a comparable basis and excluding the commercialization of fuel and calendar effects, to 3.4%. Globally, the French group has billed 20.053 million euros until March, 4.3% less than in the first quarter of 2015. But again, in comparable values without fuel and corrected for calendar effects, the turnover it has rebounded 3.1%.

Sales in France have fallen by 1.8%, reaching 9,335 million euros, while in terms 'like-for-like' have remained unchanged. The supermarket channel registered increases of 0.9% versus 0.1% decline experienced by hypermarkets. The international activity has resulted in 10,718 million euros, representing a decrease of 6.4%, while the comparable area has increased by 5.3%.
