According to data provided by the Spanish Confederation of Commerce (CEC by its Spanish acronym), retail trade is facing the best Christmas campaign of the last eight years, thanks to a year-on-year improvement in sales of 6%, with an average expenditure per person of 725 euros. Thus, the organization improves the initial forecast for annual sales growth of 5%, attributing the change to the "recovery of consumer confidence and the revival of consumption that occurred with Black Friday and the bridges of the Day of the Constitution and the Immaculate Conception."

For its part, the Confederation also focuses on improving the Consumer Confidence Index which, according to its data, has an average budget of 725 euros for Christmas shopping. Some purchases will focus, above all, on food products, lottery and decoration.

In addition, regarding social security affiliations, the patron has estimated that, during the Christmas campaign, and during the month of December the retail trade will add up to 30,000 affiliates.
