With 170,000 square meters of exhibition area, the 65th edition of Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nürnberg will become the largest in its history. The toy industry will gather in Nuremberg from 29 January to 3 February 2014 to see the latest news and trends in the market. Almost 40% of the more than 73,000 professional visitors only attend this toy fair. Over 2,700 exhibitors from 60 countries will present more than 70,000 new products among the million toys to be exhibited at the event.

The toy market trends
The new TrendGallery area will be focused on identifying the main trends in the toy industry for innovative products, including, in addition to the items selected by the TrendCommitte, toys picked by a group of industry experts (nine journalists and analysts from around the world).

This new section of the show will also feature the Toy Business Forum, which will offer lectures and briefings on emerging trends and market developments. Also the Toy Awards will recognize the most innovative toys in different categories. The twelve candidates will be announced at a press conference to be held on January 23, while the winners will be announced at the opening ceremony, which took place on January 28.

Another source of information and knowledge will be the Global Toy Conference, where experts will provide guidelines on how to strategically address the essential marketing tools in the point of sale - product presentation and sales methods.

The weight of the licensing industry
The licensing business will also have its own space on the License Center, which will be the meeting point for discussion and licensees, licensing agents, owners and professionals involved in the licensing industry. The show will highlight the latest market trends as well as the properties to keep an eye on during 2014.

New babycare items zone

Spielwarenmesse will now feature baby equipment in addition to toys, including buggies, nursery furniture and accessories for car seats, among other products. Also, the fair team is increasing the exhibition space for baby and infant articles for the 65th Spielwarenmesse. “The demand our buyer for baby and infant articles has greatly increased in recent years and is continuing to grow. We have decided to extend the space in order to accommodate this development”, explained Ernst Kick, Chairman of the Board of Spielwarenmesse.
