The actual per capita consumption in Spain is 10% lower than the average for the European Union
The data are part of a Eurostat study that measures the level of material well-being of households

As published by the EU statistics office, Eurostat, in a first estimate of a study that measures the level of material welfare homes, the actual consumption per habitant in Spain last year 2014 was 10% lower than the average for the European Union. Luxembourg, meanwhile, has the highest per capita consumption level of the whole European Union, reaching 40% above the average. Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, UK, Finland, France and the Netherlands continue to pioneer with levels between 10% and 20%.
On the other hand, countries with a level per capita consumption 10% lower than the EU average are Italy, Ireland, Cyprus and Spain (already mentioned), while in Greece, Portugal and Lithuania are among 10% and below 15%. Followed by these countries, Malta, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia are between 20% and 30% below the average; with Estonia, Latvia, Hungary, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria countries occupy the last positions in the ranking
