Studio 100 has launched a new digital division, with Tom Reding, previously head of digital entertainment at BBC Wordlwide, in charge. Reding will be responsible for the commercial exploitation and digital marketing of Studio 100’s properties, which include Maya the Bee, Vic the Viking and Heidi. He will also be in charge of developing the long-term digital strategy in tablets, smartphones, consoles, social networks and websites.
“It was a simple decision to join Studio 100 as I was struck by the entrepreneurial spirit that runs throughout the business,” says Reding. “My objective is to harness that ambition and extend Studio 100’s offer with digital products that will compete on a global scale. All the right ingredients for success are there–global brands, quality content, a strong team, a solid partnership network and top-level support for digital transformation.”
Thanks to his work at BBC Worldwide, Reding has experience in developing digital products for brands such as Top Gear, Doctor Who and Walking with Dinosaurs, among others.
