Mind Candy has announced that the first film based on the Moshi Monsters will be released in the UK and Ireland on 20 December. The film will be distributed by Universal Pictures International Entertainment, which will also take care of the distribution in digital media and on TV. Mind Candy, creator of the characters, is in charge of production, along with the animation studio Spider Eye.

The online game has 80 million users and a licensing program that includes games, toys, a music record, magazine, books, and food products, among other items.
