Tim Burton to direct live action "Dumbo" for Disney
The company has already transformed classic cartoons into live action films in the last years

Disney and Tim Burton will join forces again with a live-action film of the animation classic "Dumbo". Burton, twice Oscar nominee, will take over this project with screenplay by Ehren Kruger, author of the texts of the last three installments of the "Transformers" series and films like "Scream 3" (2000) or " The Ring "(2002).
"Dumbo" (1941) tells the story of a circus elephant who everybody makes fun of for its enormous ears until, with the help of a mouse, the little elephant achieve all its goals.
Disney has already developed several projects that transform classic motion pictures into live action, as "Maleficient", "Alice in Wonderland" or "Cinderella".
The company is also preparing a live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast" starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens and Luke Evans, and another for "The Jungle Book". It also has in portfolio the second part of "Alice in Wonderland", entitled "Through The Looking Glass" which will hit theaters in May 2016.
