'Frozen 2' confirmed by Disney | Key4Communications | News

Disney announced that Frozen will have a sequel at the company's annual shareholders meeting in San Francisco on Thursday. John Lasseter, chief creative officer at Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios and DisneyToon Studios, made the announcement with Bob Iger, Disney's president. Lasseter said that the team "had so much fun making the short 'Frozen Fever' that it was excited to make a sequel".

This announcement comes after the one on the 7 minutes short 'Frozen Fever', which welcomes Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf back to the big screen and will open in theaters on March 13, 2015, in front of Disney's 'Cinderella', a live-action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale.

The sequel doesn't have a release date or a plot line yet. 'Frozen 2' is no surprise, considering 'Frozen' made $1,2 billion at the box office. Frozen was released at the end of 2013 and went on to become the highest-grossing animation of all time, and the fifth biggest film overall. The movie won two Oscars in 2014 - best animated feature and best original song for Let It Go.
